I called this company out yesterday and they came right away and installed new springs for our garage door. The installer was great, quick and very pleasant. The price given was awesome and I was quoted a wonderful warranty (which was incorrect) but the co honored what I was told. This company has been so professional and very nice. A hinge on my gate broke several months ago and was very difficult to open and close.  I had seen gate repair trucks from R & S of Southern Alameda County working on gates in the area.  I contacted them and Nick took time from his busy schedule to give me estimates of that repair jobs and two unrelated new jobs.  It took me a while to get back to them, but I did, simplifying the task along the way.  Finally we agreed to a time and materials type job in which I ordered the materials in advance.  The materials did not arrive on time but the R & S folks were patient with me.  Finally the hinges arrived.  I let R & S know, and within a few days Joel and his co-worker arrived and repaired the gate in a very efficient and quality manner.  The gate appears very solid now, and Joel's co-worker added even an innovative gate handle.  I plan to use R & S for in the future for my other gate related jobs.

Was in a desperate need of a new garage due to it buckling big time and almost splitting in half! My garage was out of service :(  I shopped around and got a lot of different quotes but wasn't sure what type of work and product I was going to get. Lucky  for me my neighbors garage door also needed replacing and that's how I meet Dave! Really cool guy, down to earth and very knowledgeable about garage doors!  He gave me a business card and after getting the green light from my wife, I called Dave up and made an appointment with him the following day. He came out measured and was able to get me back in service the very next day with a brand new garage door with ALL new hardware! He told me that he would have his technician take a look and my old Liftmaster opener motor and I could make a decision on if I wanted to replace it or not.

​I got an awesome technician Martin, showed up on time that morning and totally took care of my new garage door! He was very good at his job and very friendly! He knew exactly what he was doing and let me know that he would make sure everything was working properly before he left. I did decide that I would go ahead and replace my motor and boy was I so glad I did!! Martin installed my new Liftmaster belt drive motor and we love it! Super quite and very smooth! Programmed all my controls for me and setup the panel also! HIGHLY RECOMMEND A++++++

Our neighborhood had a security gate installed twenty years ago. During that time I have handled the maintenance of the gate for seven folks in the neighborhood. R and S Erection installed that gate and operator, and maintained it to the satisfaction of everyone. Recently I had another custom gate installed on my private property. After researching the price and quality I came back to the tried and true service/ product of R and S. Upon arrival of the gate for installation, I found that I was not happy with the galvanized dip done prior to the powder coating. I was nit picking, but without any argument or attitude the gate was returned to the vendor to be re-dipped. Working with men for over 50 years, one comes to know the men that are on the job to do their job and problem solve, and those that are there to just collect a paycheck. The spring on my garage door opener broke at around 8:00 PM yesterday evening, leaving me unable to open the garage door. Rather than wait until morning, I called R&S Erection, who I have used in the past. The repairman, John, arrived promptly and immediately went to work. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and very efficient. As it turns out, the segmented door was missing a latch pin, which caused the spring on the right side of the door to fail. I had him replace both springs, and the missing latch pin. I was very pleased and very satisfied with the work he did. Garage door would not close and called R&S for repair service. Found out now residential work is assigned to the Alameda location and was first skeptical whether I get schedule quickly. Well they came out the next day when I was available and John, the repairman, called me 20 minutes before I left work and met me at the exact time I got home...no waiting. He was very knowledgeable and proud of his job and company. Quick diagnosis he determine a gear was broken and provided option to either order replacement part or install either new motor or demo one hardly used that were both with him. I opt for the showroom demo and got a great deal plus he adjusted the door as it was a little heavy and oiled up the whole thing quick, clean and efficient. I have worked with the Hayward location for many years and they are honest and hard working.  Anything doors they can do or make it for you. They have one of the few metal fabrication shops for Gates in the area that sill makes their own products.

My garage door operator (GENIE) was not working correctly, I did some research and decided to go with R&S of  Hayward for the new installation. The Tech (John Hackett) arrived on time. John was very courteous and explained thoroughly everything he would be doing; he replaced all the old wiring and installed new the operator and other parts in no time. I would recommend John because he is a professional, very courteous and a hard worker, everything he did works flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to use john and R&S again. I don't write reviews often. However, I was so impressed with the service I received from R & S that I m compelled to write one. I had 2 Liftmaster garage door openers installed in October 2009. I did my research, and obtained quotes from several local garage door service companies before settling on R & S.
Their quote was very competitive, but it was the professionalism and courtesy of the young lady answering the phone that sealed my choice. Shannon took the time to help me discern the different models and their unique features. Each of my pre-installation questions was promptly and thoroughly answered via email. My special request for the accessories was cheerfully accommodated. I just felt that she and her company went out of their way to ensure my satisfaction. After the installation, when she sensed lingering puzzlement on my part in using a certain feature, she not only went through the procedure with me step-by-step, but also initiated a call to send the technician back to instruct me in person! Now that's service!
The technician, Nick, was efficient, thorough and knowledgeable. The installation was on time and went without a hitch. Nick reviewed the numerous features of the opener with me, and cleaned up to ensure no nails were left behind in the garage to damage my car. As I mentioned, he returned for a second time to clarify for me the operation of the custom-programmed buttons--as cheerful and courteous as the first time he did the work.
The LiftMaster 3850 Belt Drive HPS with Evercharge Battery Backup is an awesome opener! I love the exterior keypad, the smart control panel with programmable features, and the super quiet operation--true to the many positive reviews I read. As the adage goes, I don't know how I could do without the system for so long.
I am very pleased with the product as well as the superb installation and customer service provided by R & S. Based on my positive experience dealing with Shannon and Nick; I have no hesitation in recommending the company.

I was looking for a new garage door for a 40 year old home I bought in Fremont, and first I looked at the big box stores which I'll refer to by their first two letters Ho, Lo, and Se. I then went to check on an independent garage door service I used in the past which was a little cheaper, but basically, all prices quoted were comparable for just a basic garage door (no windows) and the least expensive motor. But then I saw an ad by R&S on CL. It offered a package deal which not only significantly beat the quotes I got, but offered a garage door with windows! and a better motor. I was skeptical at first, it being CL, but I checked the reviews on Yelp and they seemed pretty good, so I contacted them.  I spoke with Dave, who is the Regional Division manager, and we set up an appointment for him to come out and look at my home, and sure enough he stuck with the offer on CL, and I accepted the quote on the spot. I chose the color, panel, and window design, and a few days later the R&S receptionist phoned me to set up an appointment for me for the installation a week later (actually just yesterday morning). On the installation day, John, the installer came out and actually came a half hour earlier than scheduled. He was a very friendly personable guy. At first I was a little bit worried that he was the only installer, but sure enough, 4 hours later, he completed a wonderful installation. When it came time to inspect, John went out of his way to show me about the features of the new garage door. He made sure my garage was cleaned of any installation debris and took away my old garage door and motor. He was a great guy. In short, it was a good experience. I felt I got a great deal and excellent service from R&S. I would highly recommend them. If you contact them, ask for Dave K., their regional manager, and John the installer. I don't think you can go wrong with this team.

Just had a Liftmaster 8550 installed and I love it!!!! It is so quiet and smooth I am in heaven. I can open and close my door from anywhere my phone, my laptop, my pc at work it is the best. If my daughter forgets her key she can just call me to open the door and within 1-2 min the door is opened and my daughter is in the house quickly and safely. Everything from the customer service to the installation and operator itself is awesome! I was extremely impressed with their customer service. I called at 730AM on Monday morning regarding my broken garage door. They showed up like 930AM on the same day. John showed up and quickly found out the problem and fixed it. He even recommended replacing the shaft which was damaged from previous installation.
